Want to play Dice Fantasy Football?

Dice Football is a fantasy football league with results determined by a system of dice-rolling run by me. All teams and players are fictional and you get to control them.

Each team gets 8 attempts on goal, represented by the roll of a six-sided dice. Rolling a six means the team has scored a goal. The basic quota can be increased or decreased depending on the strategy you choose before each match (attacking, defensive etc).

Strategies
Throw Everything Forward – +3 chances for both teams
Attacking – +2 chances for both teams
Normal – no change to basic quota
Defensive – -2 chances for both teams
Park the Bus – -3 chances for both teams

As an example, if Team A goes for “Throw Everything Forward” and Team B selects “Defensive”, each team will receive 9 chances (basic quota 8 + Team A’s tactics [+3] + Team B’s tactics [-2] = 9 opportunities on goal).

Managers may also choose to play in an aggressive manner in order to cut down the number of chances their opponents will receives – the number of chances will be determined by a dice roll. On the flip side however doing so may see the opposing team receive penalty kicks, which are easier to score from than in open play. There are no disciplinary cards, which should simplify things a bit.

It may seem confusing, but I do all the hard work. You just need to tweet or DM your chosen strategy @diceftbl before each match.

To begin, the first season of Dice Football will contain (at most) 12 teams, with the bottom two teams being relegated. The league will standard European league points scoring and structure.

What I need from you now

Interested? Excellent. Fill out the following information in the comments below (information in italics is included for reference)

Name/Twitter handle: @RyanKeaney
Team Name: The Starfish
Ground/Stadium: Fish Bowl
Formation: 3-4-3
Kit Description: Sky blue with yellow trim for home shirt, with reversed colours on the away shirt.

Team profiles (with basic kit pictures) will be posted when all of the teams have been signed up.

Obviously not every team will be of equal strength, and as such teams will be randomly seeded before the season begins. Top seeds will receive a higher basic quota than lower seeded teams, but more on that later.

Hopefully that all makes sense. If not, fire any questions you have in my direction and I’ll be happy to explain further. If you want to take part in the first season of Dice Fantasy Football just reply here with the aforementioned details.
